Megan Moyer specializes in art therapy and working with neurodivergent clients. She earned a master’s degree in art therapy counseling from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a bachelor’s in psychology at Indiana University Bloomington. She has experience working in community mental health agencies, non-profit organizations, and schools. She has worked with older children, adolescents, and adults on issues ranging from depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, grief, loss, anger, and trauma. Megan has a particularly strong background in working with clients with ADHD, Down syndrome, cognitive disabilities, and clients on the autism spectrum.

Megan believes that we all have unique strengths and perspectives and values finding the positive in things we may view negatively. Knowing this, Megan approaches mental health from a strengths-based, integrative approach. She combines humanistic, dialectal behavioral, and art therapy approaches tailored to the client’s strengths and challenges. Megan treats you as the expert in yourself.

As an art therapist, Megan uses the power of art to allow for unique methods of self-expression, communication, and regulation. Art can also be used to augment traditional methods of talk therapy to provide a very impactful, positive experience. Clients can expect to work with a wide variety of media depending on their unique strengths and goals in therapy.
